Get to Know Life Of A’Shon

Q. Who Are You?

A. I am, Life Of A’Shon, The Certified Game Spitter @Lifeofashon

Q. Where Are You From?

A. Vallejo, California but reside in Houston, Texas

Q. Describe Your Genre’

A. Shit talking, I’m joking but definitely rap, no auto-tune type of rap either, real raw emotion and real experiences and perspectives from my life

Q. Who Are Your Musical Influences?

A. That’s a hard question because I genuinely don’t believe my style is similar to any other artist. My life has been my influence. But growing up I listened to a lot of 50 Cent, Eminem and Lil’ Wayne. I guess they influenced my decision to create my style in based on my life experiences, in such a raw way, as they did.

Q. What Inspires You To Write Music?

A. Honestly, feedback from others. It makes me happy to hear that people resonate with some of the things I rap about. It makes me happy that people enjoy my music and wants more of it. If it weren’t for that I’d be more focused on other aspects of the business.

Q. Title of your main single ?

A.

From my mixtape ‘Never Ordinary’ my song ‘NO L’s’ is one of the hardest songs on the project. Real hustle music, go-getter music, not accepting L’s type of music!

Q. When Do Your Creative Ideas Usually Come To You?

A. Usually when I think about my life past, present, or future. That’s when I really get my juices flowing. Thinking about things I’ve experienced good or bad.

Q. What are some of your past projects & how did they benefit you?

A. When I first started rapping I had a series of songs I called “56 Barz” and I made many parts to the series. It was just me rapping about various topics on fire beats, no hooks just straight gas. They were pretty popular for the time and it was beneficial because I was able to use those records to experiment and develop the sound you hear today!

Q. Which one of YOUR songs is YOUR favorite & why?

A. Man, I got some crazy unreleased stuff that I know people will love as much as I do. But that’s for the future, right now my favorite is a song from my mixtape ‘Never Ordinary’ called ‘NO I Ain’t Going’ and I love it because it really just emphasizes my mentality toward everything in life. Just not going for any bullshit. Putting up a fight, standing on my morals and principals, and pursuing the things I want in life!

Q. Where Do You See Yourself In 5 Years?

A. In 5 years my entertainment company FNENT (From Nothing Entertainment) will be stamped in the industry as a prominent figure leading the stride in changing the way the industry is. It’s a lot of things in this industry that just are immoral and hold no integrity. It takes the fun out of the business. Within the next 5 years I will show the world where to come to do good business, have fun and say fuck everything that’s neither of those two.

Q. What’s your favorite restaurant & Why?

A. In my hometown there a burger spot called ‘Bud’s Giant Burgers’ and outside of the nostalgia of growing up eating it, there is 2 reasons why I love this restaurant. Firstly, I’m a hood baby, my entire family on both sides come from ghettos so I love anything that has that culture. I’m not too much of an uppity high end restaurant type of guy. Secondly, they have the best burger I have ever tasted undoubtedly and I’ve been all across America and a little out of the country!

Q. Things you like to do for fun ?

A. I used to be a nerd before I got into the streets, and I still carry many of those qualities. So I like gaming and watching anime. I genuinely enjoy learning things and exercising my brain. My favorite school subject was history so I like watching historical films, reading about history, going to museums, just all types of things like that. I also play basketball a lot, so anyone that wants the smoke on that court come holla at me. Of course I love to travel too.

Q. What’s your favorite movie ?

A. Oh yea I love ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’’, I resonate with it so much because I’ve experienced a lot of the things that happened in that movie and of course the sound track and album from 50 cent was legendary.
Q. Where Can Your Music Be Found?

A. Anywhere anyone listens to music, just type in Life Of A’Shon and I’ll be right there, I hope you enjoy!
